In our second clip from the Salem press room during TCA earlier this year, we feature a familiar face on our site — Shane West. He jumped right into the role of John Alden on Salem after wrapping production on Nikita, and is very excited to take on this new challenge!

- He shared that this is a different take on John Alden, and teased a “prisoner of war” aspect that he’s looking forward to learning more about.
- This is very much a fantastical horror story, but there is a love story at the heart of it, namely between John Alden and Mary Sibley.
- Shane mentioned that it was easier to lose a hand (on Nikita) or legs (on ER) than to tackle the challenges of the costumes on Salem.
- Seth Gabel crashes the chat at one point, and hilarity ensues!
Salem debuts on WGN America tonight at 10/9c, and Canadian viewers can catch it at 9e/6p on Space.
