David Sutcliffe returns to U.S. televisions tonight as Reelz Channel adds the Canadian hit Cracked to is Friday night lineup. Co-created by Flashpoint producer Tracey Forbes, the series, which aired on CBC earlier this spring, follows Aidan Black, a former SWAT member returning from a breakdown and partnered with a forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Daniella Ridley (Stefanie von Pfetten a familiar face from a slew of series and movies in her first series headlining role), in a new Psych Crimes and Crisis Unit as he finds he’s perhaps now better equipped to catch the bad guys.
The rest of the regular and recurring cast includes Mayko Nguyen (best known for Regenesis and recently on Rookie Blue and Motive), Dayo Ade (The L.A. Complex), Karen LeBlanc (Shattered), Paul Popowich (Hemlock Grove), and newcomer Luisa D’Oliveira.
The guest star rotation on the Toronto-based series is also impressive. The second episode airing tonight includes Papa Mars himself, Enrico Colantoni. Throughout the season keep an eye out for Nicholas Campbell, Kathleen Robertson, former Lost Girl Ash Clé Bennett, Flashpoint‘s Amy Jo Johnson, and toward the end of the season, Haven‘s Lucas Bryant, Continuum‘s Victor Webster, and Republic of Doyle‘s Michelle Nolden.
Season two has already been greenlit by CBC and picked up by Reelz Channel, so we’ll get those episodes in 2014. The first season of 13 episodes begins tonight with two episodes airing back to back starting at 10 E/7 P. Check reelz.com for availability in your viewing area.
