[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
Pretty Hard Cases closes the books on its second season as the coyote case both winds down and hangs a left curve when the time arrives to formally launch the private airline with the titular ribbon cutting.
Sam and Kelly inch closer to taking down the deputy mayor and send in a ringer with detective Breann (Sarena Parmar), who hysterically poses as an influencer with just the right amount of disdain, thanks to an equally hysterical coaching scene on how to capture just the perfect level of disgust/aloofness for the assignment.
Edwina tells Sam and Kelly in no uncertain terms that the case will only hold if everything is done by the book, which gives Sam pause about her rule-breaking to save Judy. She gets counsel from an unlikely source when they go talk to Brad.
Meanwhile, Naz has had enough of nice guys finishing last so he decides to make a bold play concerning Adeline and gets diminishing personal and professional results. He’s not the only one in the squad room making bold plays as Nate finally takes a hint concerning Kelly.
Richie puts himself in a precarious position trying to look out for Dane and then gets a surprise when another familiar face shows up.
Winnifred Jong directs the fun, fast-aced episode written by Tassie Cameron, which easily sets up a not-yet-confirmed third season.
