As our countdown to the Season 3 premiere of Arrow continues, we have a clip featuring Paul Blackthorne (Detective Lance). Watch the full video from San Diego Comic-Con below, but first, here are some highlights:
- Lance was aware of Sara’s crime fighting tendencies but knew it was for the good of the city. Sara giving Laurel the jacket in the Season 2 finale was a red flag for Lance. Laurel is the bookish one, not the rebel, and he’s concerned.
- There is a five month time jump which allows Lance to recuperate after the injuries he sustained in the Season 2 finale. There are some complications following the recovery, and he is offered a new position as a result — Captain.
- Blackthorne said that Lance is no longer trying to figure out who the Arrow is. It doesn’t matter who it is; they are fundamentally on the same side. Lance does have an inkling of who it may be.
- Being captain is more politics and paper pushing than Lance is used to. He’s more of a coach instead of a player because of his physical limitations.
