[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
By the end of this week’s Shoot the Messenger, the penultimate episode of the first season, you might very well need The Gazette‘s string diagram.
We pick up with the aftermath of Hassan’s murder and his phone in the wind. We learn it’s a key piece of bargaining not just for Sam, but those who would control him, when the suggestion of its contents hits a tabloid.
While he’s learning the hard truth about who he can and cannot trust, Chloe has to sort out which side of that fence she falls on, and where that leaves her with Daisy following the blindside of her opening interview question.
Once word of Hassan’s death trickles in, and with the tabloid gaining traction, The Gazette starts getting blowback on its failed interview, kicking Simon, Daisy, and Mary into high gear to get the official story out.
On the official investigative front, Lutz and Ortiz piggyback guns and gangs to do their own end run at Charles and his team.
It’s a very busy hour with a lot of moving pieces. I’m curious to see where and how it all ends.
Shoot the Messenger airs Mondays at 9 pm/9:30 NT on CBC. Here’s a sneak peek of “Darkness Comes to Light.”
