Sons of Anarchy’s Final Ride: Kurt Sutter

During Sons of Anarchy‘s final ride into San Diego Comic-Con, we had the chance to speak with Creator and Executive Producer Kurt Sutter. Below are some highlights on what he shared about the upcoming seventh season, plus the full video from the pre-panel press room:

  • In Season 7, Jax has “blinders on” and a single purpose. Sutter mentioned that Charlie Hunnam’s having a blast playing the character this year.
  • Regarding the journals, Jax is not in a journaling mood. Sutter said that it doesn’t make sense at the start of the season, but he may bring it back toward the end.
  • At its core, Sons of Anarchy is a family drama, but there’s an epic, absurd pulp quality to it, and it takes place in a dangerous world. Sutter told us that what may be a smashed plate in one family is a fork to the head in this one.
  • Sutter’s final remark was that at the end of the day, SOA is a love story.
