Excellent news out of FOX this afternoon that Sleepy Hollow will return for a third season of 18 episodes. Clifton Campbell (White Collar, The Glades, and way, way back there, Profiler and Wiseguy) takes over as the new showrunner.
Here’s what FOX said in their announcement:
“Sleepy Hollow is truly inventive television. The talented producers – led by Alex [Kurtzman], Bob [Orci], Len [Wiseman] and Heather [Regnier] – along with the brilliant cast, anchored by Nicole [Beharie] and Tom [Mison], have created a fantastic world that brings ‘history’ to life with compelling and vibrant storytelling,” said FOX entertainment president David Madden. “I had the pleasure of working with Clifton on both The Glades and White Collar. He is an excellent producer, and we can’t wait to see what this team has in store for Season Three.”
Y’all know how much I adore this show. I’m so, so pleased we’ll see them again! No word on casting additions, but I’d love to see Matt Barr’s Hawley return.
The signs were there for a pick up last week when the original showrunner stepped down — they wouldn’t have bothered with formalizing that if they weren’t trying to make a third season happen. So glad for the cast and crew that a deal was hammered out.
You can catch up on Season 2 online and in Saturday reruns at 9/8c on FOX, and through our recaps here. No formal word from Global yet, but we can assume they’ll be taking it, too.
