Yay! We’re here!! After an EIGHT-MONTH wait, season two of Sleepy Hollow launches Monday night on FOX and Global. I realized I didn’t recap the final two hours of Season 1 and I chalk that up to intending to watch it again and then write it up, and I just never did sit down and watch it a second time. It’s on the list this weekend!
Here’s the groundwork you need to know going into Season 2:
Shit got real, really fast for our crew as Abbie joined Crane on his journey into Purgatory, and when he left with Katrina, the law of balances said somebody had to stay behind, so Abbie did — confined to a creepy oversized doll house with the childhood psyches of herself and Jenny.
When Crane and Katrina make it back to Sleepy Hollow, they’re met by Parrish, who it turns out is their son (Mind. Blown) and he’s ecstatic about the reunion for all the wrong reasons. He confines Crane in a coffin and gives Katrina to the Horseman — after a little Mwa Ha Ha-ing, of course — and we’re left with the notion that Crane is irrevocably trapped and Katrina is doomed.
A few miles away, Jenny is also in bad shape. She figures out the Parrish link and is on her way to warn Crane and Abbie when she’s run off the road. Back in town, Irving has been arrested.
So, they’re all in pretty precarious positions. Thankfully, we knew when they were wrapping up that they were coming back, so you could balance out the OMG with Ha Ha. Very Funny, Guys.
Here’s what we’re promised in the opener (SPOILERS AHEAD), “This Is War” — Picking up immediately after the spellbinding events of the Season 1 finale, Ichabod finds himself buried alive in a coffin; Abbie is trapped in purgatory; Ichabod’s wife, Katrina, has been kidnapped by the Headless Horseman; Capt. Frank Irving is behind bars for a murder he did not commit; and Abbie’s sister, Jenny, is among the wreckage of a horrific car crash. These events were due, in large part, to the shocking revelation that Henry Parish, the trusted friend of Ichabod and Abbie, is actually Ichabod and Katrina’s son and the Second Horseman of the Apocalypse. Now, with Henry’s emergence as the Horseman of War, alongside the Headless Horseman, Sleepy Hollow has never been so close to destruction
Sleepy Hollow airs at 9 pm E/8c Mondays on FOX in the U.S. and Global in Canada. Here are a boatload of sneak peeks to get you ready. So glad they’re back!
