[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

Dun. Dun. It’s here!

This Thursday, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent launches linearly on Citytv and streaming on Citytv+.

Centered around Toronto’s Specialized Criminal Investigations team of Detective Sergeants Henry Graff (Aden Young) and Frankie Bateman (Kathleen Munroe), the series follows them as they solve crimes ripped from the Toronto headlines (but not, per the standard L&O-iverse disclaimer). Traversing the various corners of the city, this season their cases will span Bitcoin, high finance, politics, real estate, and media, to name a few.

Tassie Cameron is the series showrunner and executive produces alongside Erin Haskett, Amy Cameron, David Valleau, Alex Patrick, and directing producer Holly Dale. Tex Antonucci and Jillian Locke are co-executive producers, Wanda Chaffey is producer, and Caledonia Brown is co-producer.

In the premiere episode, Rookie Blue and Burden of Proof alumni Peter Mooney is Nick, a Bitcoin investor left scrambling and growing increasingly frantic when his business partner and longtime friend, Daniel (Ali Kazmi), is murdered with a multimillion dollar investment perilously close to disappearing forever into the ether. Sharon Taylor (Jann) appears as Arlene, one of their investors who’s also eager to reclaim her money.

The case introduces us to the core cast and immerses us in how Graff and Bateman work their suspects and work with each other while trying to get to the truth. “The Key to the Castle” was written by Tassie Cameron and directed by Holly Dale.

Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent begins its 10-episode season Thursday night, February 22nd, at 8 pm ET on Cityyv and streaming on Citytv+. Here’s a sneak peek (and yes, that is Ian Tracey coming soon — woooo!)
