Previewing Moonshine “Zen and the Art of Midlife Maintenance”

[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

Next up on an all-new Moonshine, Sammy takes it into his own hands to get his sisters on the same page after everyone else taps out on the challenge.

Confined to share the same space (and an open bar), the trio recall a simpler time when they did get along, even if it was 25 years ago. That’s enough for them to team up on a plan to salvage the Moonshine — soliciting an investment from a childhood frenemy they didn’t treat very well back in the day, who is now conveniently a multi-millionaire.

Corey Sevier gamely comes to play as Duffy Corkum, an athleisure wear magnate who in his formative years was nicknamed “Skin Tag” by the sisters.

Separately, Nora tries to figure out where things stand, and where she wants them to stand, with Terry. Crystal’s daily housekeeping routine (hustle) begets her some intel on Oscar that might just come in handy. And Eleanor tries to make up the shroom theft to Finn and Ryan.

James Genn directs a script by Kate Spurgeon.

It’s a much lighter episode in many respects, but does layer in a few tense moments. Jennifer Finnigan has a hysterical, vulnerable, TMI scene as Lidia tries to pitch the Moonshine but then devolves into her own state of emotional dishevelment. It’s also really nice to see the sisters line up with, instead of against, each other.
