[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
Tuesday, on all-new Moonshine, Bea pushes Lidia, and Ken, further away as she deals with the side business taking a hit and the septic at the campground giving away.
Lidia responds by hedging a very large bet to step in and help out — while also being so self-involved about what everything means for her that it takes a while for her to snap to the rest of the family’s various dilemmas.
Needing to clear his head, Ken loads up Neil Young and heads to the beach for a drug-induced vision quest that actually pays off — points to Peter MacNeill for a hilariously trippy performance.
Crystal and Ryan try to interrogate and get the upper hand on Oscar but are unable to do anything productive with him. And his absence is keenly felt by Rhian, who does not respond well to her misunderstanding that she’s been ghosted.
Lidia’s kids are settling in, in their own way, and unknowingly, are both also occupying Michael’s free time, because he’s a player. Finn turns to Nora for some friendly advice and she’s no help because she’s still pining for Terry (who actually is ghosting her) while Eleanor decides to test Lidia’s boundaries.
Scott Smith directs a script by Kate Spurgeon and Josh Saltzman.
Moonshine airs Tuesdays, at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC and CBC Gem. The first five episodes are now streaming on both platforms. If you missed them, our interviews with series creator Sheri Elwood and the cast are here.
[Update 7/4/23 — Moonshine Season 1 will begin airing in the US at 9 p.m./8c, Fridays on The CW starting July 7th.]
