[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
This Wednesday’s Pretty Hard Cases picks right up the rocky morning after Sam is passed over for the DS job. Reeling from quite the hangover, she and Duff dig into the MDMA angle courtesy of an accidental not-quite-tip from the strange homicide team.
It doesn’t take long for that to intersect with Elliott and Jackie’s new obligatory side hustle (main hustle?) courtesy of the late Mr. Bowen and then Sam’s nausea and bender of a headache get exponentially worse. Thankfully, Commander Shanks steps in to make sure things are handled correctly, and she wields some expert tough love. She also intrervenes when the boys club misbehaves.
Duff’s having her own day, reconciling that her loggerhead with Nathan may be permanent.
That doesn’t stop him from helping the team hack a website in a very funny scene that even earns Hamm’s admiration. Tiggy turns another potential negative into a positive, going toe to toe with Massiamo in a hail Mary attempt to own her power. Then it’s Massiamo’s turn to be impressed.
