Our next clip in the countdown to Constantine features Charles Halford; you’ll meet him tonight as John Constantine’s closest friend, Chas Chandler.

In this video from San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Halford teased his character, and touched on the filming process so far:
- He said that the longer he and Matt Ryan spend working together, their chemistry grows, and it gives the writers more to work with.
- Chas gets beat up more as the story progresses. The thrills get bigger and better each week, and it’s growing into a dynamic show.
- There is a lot of humour coming out of it. John is evolving more and backstories are coming out.
- The intro of Zed allows for more give and take with John.
- Chas and John are really old friends, so Chas doesn’t take his crap. John is a reluctant hero, so it takes some poking and prodding for him to act. Chas is there to keep him to task and hold him accountable to a certain degree.
