Caffeine – September 30th Edition

Happy Sunday! Slightly surprisingly, none of the new fall shows have been picked up or cancelled yet. But we’ve got plenty of other news for you.

Logo will premiere new series DTLA on October 24.

Renewed: Royal Pains, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Major Crimes, Franklin & Bash

Unofficially renewed: The Walking Dead

Julian Fellowes is talking about making a Downton Abbey prequel!

In development:
ABC has a beauty industry soap and an erotic fashion thriller/soap. Yes, those are two different projects. I double checked. Also: a Mandy Moore comedy, legal and cop dramas from Schwartz and Savage, and an army-turned-outlaws adventure drama.
CBS has a game developer crime drama, legal and cop dramas (shocking, I know), a husband-and-wife medical drama, an FBI drama, two Craig Ferguson comedies, and dating comedy Nerds in Love.
FOX has a rodeo drama, a family sitcom from Garry Marshall, and a David Shore/Peter Tolan Boston cop show.
FX has a Fargo adaptation. With the Coen brothers. Interesting.
NBC has young Thomas Edison solving crimes, a modern Wuthering Heights, a family/adultery drama, a marching band comedy, a relationship “comedic documentary” that actually seems to be a drama, a CIA drama, and an About a Boy adaptation from Jason Katims.
TV Land has a Kirstie Alley comedy.

Greg Kinnear has committed to doing a legal drama, so we’ll see where that ends up.

Claire Coffee has been promoted to series regular on Grimm.
