Season 4 of Vikings arrives next month, and History has released some spectacular images.
The photos feature Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) in a heart-stopping stand-off with a grizzly bear. These are from a scene filmed on location in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
In Season 4 of Vikings, “betrayal is everywhere as the powers begin to shift. Following the Vikings’ successful raid of Paris in season three, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) is the most feared and respected leader in the Western World. However, his victory is short-lived as he is surrounded by those who seek his undoing.”
Joining the cast this year are:
- Dianne Doan as Yidu, “a completely different character within the world of the Vikings who fascinates Ragnar.”
- Peter Franzén as King Harold Finehair, “a complex character who seeks to be King of Norway and a potential threat to Ragnar.”
- Jasper Pääkkönen as Halfdan The Black, “King Harold’s violent younger brother.”
For the first time in series history, some filming took place location in Canada in addition to Ireland. The 16 episode season kicks off February 18 at 10pm ET/PT.
If you haven’t hopped on the Vikings ship yet, you can watch Seasons 1, 2 and 3 on shomi, iTunes, HISTORY on Demand, History.ca and HISTORY Go app.
