Outlander Fantasy Casting: Who Should Play Claire?

While I’m guessing that an announcement will be coming any day now for the highly coveted role of Claire in Outlander, I thought we’d play a bit of fantasy casting.

I’ve seen a lot of buzz online from my industry peers as well as fans, and Hayley Atwell seems to be a favorite. Rebecca Hall (who I’ve adored since I saw her in Starter for 10 alongside James MacAvoy) also appears to have sparked some interest from the online community.

From what I can tell, the consensus from fans of the books is that they want a Claire that has an unconventional beauty and a voluptuous figure. No petite, delicate flowers need apply.

Is there anyone that you feel embodies Claire? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. I think Pauline Egan, the Australian actress who played the British Character of Erika in Canadian series Sanctuary would be awesome for the role!!! Rumour has it that she also auditioned twice for the role…

  2. I just went to a screening of RPG in Lisbon being a huge sci fi buff and think Cloudia Swann would be a great new talent to play Claire. She has the grace, strength and class to play such a character and she yet to have her break. This would be a risky but outstanding combination.

  3. Did you see Pauline Egan’s audition on vimeo? I thought it was excellent! Search it! Cloudia Swann would be alright too.

  4. I saw pauline Egans audition tape it was very good – I’m suprised they release the auditions. I’ve also looked up Cloudia and think she would be great she has the essence of Claire and looks like a young Liz Hurley!
