In this edition of “New Year, New Series”, we take a look at this weekend’s new offering from Showtime, House of Lies.
I’ve had a chance to see the first episode, and although I wasn’t completely smitten with it, I think I’ll check out a couple of more episodes before I decide whether it lands a permanent slot on my viewing list. The concept is interesting (a management consulting firm that will go to any lengths to land the big fish in corporate America), and the cast is solid (including Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell, Ben Schwartz, Josh Lawson and Dawn Olivieri), but unlike some of its network cohorts with questionable morals, there wasn’t one character that made me feel anything for them – good or bad.

House of Lies debuts Sunday January 8th at 10pm ET/PT on Showtime, and on Monday January 9th at 10pm ET on TMN and 9pm PT on Movie Central in Canada.
