Joshua Jackson Saddles Up for Showtime’s The Affair

Joshua Jackson is returning to television! Showtime announced that the former Fringe and Dawson’s Creek star has been cast in their new drama pilot The Affair.

He’ll be playing Cole, “a hard-edged cowboy who manages a ranch on the eastern tip of Long Island that has been in his family for generations.” His character is married to Allison (Ruth Wilson, Luther, The Prisoner), “a young woman … trying to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragedy.” Dominic West (The Wire, The Hour) and Maura Tierney (ER, The Good Wife) also star as Noah, a New Yorker who begins an affair with Allison, and his wife, Helen.

Written by Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, The Affair is “an intense and intimate exploration of two marriages and an affair that disrupts them – with all of the complex consequences that result.”

I’ll be keeping close tabs on this one as a fan of both Jackson and West!

Are you excited at the prospect of Joshua Jackson on the small screen again?
