Homeland Season 2 Blu-ray Review

Homeland is one of those shows that has you biting your nails and holding your breath on first viewing, and rewatching it down the road to see if you can pinpoint the clues that you may have initially missed. If you’re longing for a marathon before the upcoming third season, or have yet to become addicted to this award-winning drama, you’re in luck – Homeland Season 2 is now on DVD and Blu-ray!

In addition to all 12 adrenaline charged episodes from the second season and deleted scenes, the Homeland Season 2 discs include some really neat special features, including a segment on the making of the making of the explosive Season 2 finale entitled “The Choice,” and the must-watch prologue to the third season, “The Border.”

There is also my personal highlight, a Super 8 video diary by Brody himself, Damian Lewis. (Did I just hear a collective sigh?) It gives us a great look behind the scenes while they were filming the second season, including a pregnant “Danesy” (as Lewis affectionately refers to his co-star Claire Danes), band practice, and Lewis’ fun little comments on all of the people who make this show happen. He also mentioned a little duet that happened between him and Mandy Patinkin. Two words: Bohemian Rhapsody! Can we have that as part of the Season 3 special features, pretty please?

Homeland Season 2 is available for you to take home on DVD and Blu-ray, so you can start that rewatch – or perhaps catch up – before the Season 3 premiere on September 29th!
