TV’s newest thriller, Hannibal, premiered last week and in tonight’s second episode, “Amuse-bouche”, we meet tabloid scribe Freddie Lounds, who just happens to be a gal in Bryan Fuller’s version of this universe. Last week, I spoke with actress Lara Jean Chorostecki in Toronto about Hannibal, her role in it, and how Freddie’s story is set to unfold.
Here are some highlights from our chat (WARNING – MILD SPOILERS BELOW):
– Freddie is most definitely a self-serving character and always wants to know what everyone else will do for her.
– Bryan Fuller’s distinct style is what makes the subject matter in this series somewhat easier to watch.
– Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal Lecter) is quite imposing when he’s in character, but is absolutely charming as a person.
– Bryan Fuller has told her that her character will eventually take the same trajectory as in Red Dragon, but that won’t likely happen until a later season.
Check out the video below, and watch Hannibal tonight at 10 ET/PT on CityTV and at 10/9c on NBC.
