Daredevil Brings Superheroes on TV to a Whole New Level

We’re hours away from the premiere of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, and I can’t recommend this series enough!

I’ve had the chance to preview the first five episodes in the series, and there are so many reasons why you’ll want to clear your schedule this weekend and watch it all.

First, it has brought the superhero genre into a new TV arena. This is less like other DC and Marvel fare currently on TV and more like iconic series such as The Sopranos, The Wire, or The Shield. It’s dark and gritty with rich storytelling and intriguing characters. There are some lighter moments, but they don’t feel forced. Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock to perfection, Eldon Hensen is fantastic as Foggy Nelson, and I’m really enjoying Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page.

What the team behind Daredevil has achieved is the makings of a great series that just happens to be based on a comic book character. This is a show for fans of the comic books, but also for those who would usually skip anything based on a comic book or superhero story.

So get those snacks ready, put on some comfy clothes, and prepare to camp out in front of your screen for 13 hours of the perfection that is Daredevil!

Daredevil will be available at 12am PST / 3am EST on Netflix.

Oh, and if you want a little tease of what’s in store, here’s the spoileriffic motion art revealing Daredevil’s costume!

  1. OMG…I can’t wait for this to start watching it tonight! I was stoked when i saw the first trailers. Respect to the showrunners sticking to DD canon with the original ninja uniform..but i was jonesing for the devil horns. I’m glad that the red suit is coming.
