Caffeine – March 11th Edition

Happy Sunday. This week’s news is full of big names joining pilots – Sigourney Weaver, John Barrowman, Susan Lucci – and even bigger names doing guest star appearances – Martha Stewart and Stephen Hawking. But first . . .

Renewed: Justified. Yay!

Cancelled: Terra Nova. But wait – Netflix may pick it up. Really? That does not strike me as a sound business decision.

Skins will end after season seven.

Bryan Cranston says Breaking Bad will return in July, but this hasn’t been officially announced yet.

Some pilots are officially no longer in contention, so we can stop getting interested in them: CBS’s Quean, HBO’s 40.

Of course, pilot pickups continue: MTV picked up Krysten Ritter’s drama, and I love her, so that makes me happy.

Showtime is developing a series based on You Kill Me.

The people behind Haven are developing a show based on Karin Slaughter’s books.

Comedy Central has picked up some new series. They’re comedies. One would assume.

Michael Gambon has been promoted to series regular on Luck. Same for Jamey Sheridan on Homeland, and Michael Grant on Secret Life.

Mr. Selfridge himself might be Jeremy Piven.

Tristan Wilds is taking a break from 90210 because of illness. Get well soon!
