PBS will air the Call the Midwife holiday special on December 30.

MuchMusic has not renewed The L.A. Complex, which almost certainly means that it’s done at the CW as well, as I think they had episodes rated so low as to be uncountable. This is very sad, as that show was actually really good.

NBC has upped the episode order for this season of Law & Order: SVU to 24.

ABC has ordered sci fi drama Weird Desk to series for summer 2013.

Scandal star Tony Goldwyn will direct an episode later this season.

Bravo has ordered its first scripted pilots, The Joneses and Rita.

The BBC is adapting J.K. Rowling’s novel The Casual Vacancy. Wheee!

No network attached yet, but a drama about 1920s-30s Berlin and the rise of the Nazis? Sign me up.

HBO has greenlit comedy pilot Silicon Valley.

In development:
ABC has a comedy about a “lovable dreamer,” which, what? Okay. Also: a female rookie cop comedy, a Latino family drama from Salma Hayek, and another (fourth?) cop comedy.
AMC has a Midwestern militia drama.
E! has a supernatural romantic drama.
HBO has a mining town drama from Shawn Ryan.
NBC has a new version of Ironside.
Starz has a futuristic detective drama.
TNT has a Jamie Foxx buddy crime drama.
USA has a WWII sci fi show.

ABC has passed on Kings of Van Nuys.
