Caffeine - August 8th Edition

Happy Monday! So sorry to be late this week – I spent most of the weekend somewhere without much Internet access (gasp!) and the TCA press tour means there was more than usual to wade through. But here we go!

Showtime premieres on January 8: Shameless at 9; House of Lies at 10; Californication at 10:30.

Desperate Housewives will end after season eight.

Renewed! Rizzoli & Isles, Wilfred, Louie, Always Sunny, Gigolos.

Eureka is getting a six-episode sixth season, but there’s some confusion about whether that will be the end of the show.

Switched at Birth is getting 22 more episodes, starting in early 2012. (But still season one, it seems.)

The CW is giving extra episodes next season to several returning shows, including Gossip Girl, Nikita, 90210, and Supernatural.

Bones will have thirteen episodes in season seven.

Sony is reviving Dead Lawyers – now starring John Stamos.

MTV is making a comedy called Dumb Girls. I have nothing positive to say about this, so I will leave it at that. Or, actually, I can say that it makes Starz’s new NASCAR show look less horribly sexist in comparison!

FOX bought a legal drama from Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim that sounds pretty much like a lot of other rogue lawyer shows, honestly.

Marg Helgenberger is leaving CSI in January.

Connor Paolo probably won’t be back to Gossip Girl next season.
