FX’s hit animated series Archer has had its share of really notable guest stars, and in Season 3, Burt Reynolds will play … well … Burt Reynolds, in an episode titled “The Man From Jupiter”! According to the press release, “Reynolds dates Agent Sterling Archer’s mother and boss, Malory – much to Sterling’s dismay.” Oh Sterling. Will any man be good enough for Mama Malory? And need I bring up the whole Oedipus complex?
How awesome is this image of Burt Reynolds – Archer-ized?
Burt Reynolds is really the perfect person to make an appearance – given Sterling Archer’s fascination with him – and creator Adam Reed said it best:
“I think the only person on the planet who’s a bigger fan of Burt Reynolds than me is Sterling Archer. Archer constantly tries to imitate Burt and always raves about Burt’s movies and all-around awesomeness. So to have Burt recording voice-overs for the show was just amazing.”
Archer is back with its third season in January 2012 on FX.
