[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
This week, on the second episode of AMC’s six-part The Night Manager, we dive a little deeper into the world of Richard Roper before dialing back to Jonathan’s big decision.
It’s a bit of a time-jumpy, before-and-after episode that bounces between England and Mallorca that sets the stage for Jonathan’s indoctrination and the very careful, deliberate steps Angela takes to ensure his safety while also peeking behind the curtain of Roper’s family and business politics.
As part of that before-and-after plotting, we get a balance, similar to what we had in the first episode, of quiet and noise as the planning and chess gaming is interrupted by bursts of violence or threats of the same. It’s another intriguing hour.
