Sweet Streams: Wynonna Earp

Welcome to the debut edition of Sweet Streams, our new series of streaming TV recommendations. Each day, a member of Team Televixen will suggest a series available on streaming platforms, including Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, CraveTV, Crackle, and more. On a weekly basis, we’ll also bring you a rundown of new releases on SVOD.

Our first Sweet Streams pick is Wynnona Earp, which made its Netflix debut today in the U.S.

If you haven’t heard about this badass supernatural romp before now, here’s a taste:

Based on the IDW Comic and adapted for TV by showrunner Emily Andras, Wynonna Earp is the demon hunting great-granddaughter of Wyatt Earp. Wynonna takes down evil with an arsenal that includes a Scooby gang of allies, and a special revolver named Peacemaker. It was one of the best series to premiere in 2016; it’s sassy, sexy, and super smart.

Wynonna Earp premiered on Syfy a year ago today, and returns for its second season this June. It stars Melanie Scrofano as Wynonna, Dominique Provost-Chalkley as Wynonna’s kid sister Waverly, Shamier Anderson as Deputy Marshal Xavier Dolls, and Tim Rozon as the infamous Doc Holliday.

You might like this if you are a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, or Lost Girl.
