Sweet Streams: The Good Fight

Good Fight

It’s time for a new edition of Sweet Streams and today’s pick is The Good Fight, currently available on CBS All Access in the U.S. This spinoff of The Good Wife premiered in February, and new episodes are released weekly.

Here is one of the promos that circulated before the series debuted:

The Good Fight picks up one year after the events of The Good Wife‘s series finale. A Ponzi scheme of epic proportions wipes out Diane Lockhart’s savings, and also destroys the reputation of Diane’s goddaughter Maia, a young lawyer. Diane and Maia land at one of Chicago’s top law firms, which also happens to be Lucca Quinn’s firm.

Reprising their roles from The Good Wife are Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart, Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn, and Sarah Steele as Marissa Gold. The series also stars Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey) as Maia Rindell, Delroy Lindo (The Chicago Code, Blood and Oil) as Adrian Boseman, Justin Bartha (Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life) as Colin Morello, Erica Tazel (Justified) as Barbara Kolstad, Paul Guilfoyle (Colony, CSI) as Henry Rindell, and Bernadette Peters (Mozart in the Jungle) as Lenore Rindell. You will definitely see some other familiar faces from The Good Wife, too.

You might like this if you loved The Good Wife (obviously), or enjoy a smartly written legal drama. The series has the hallmarks of its predecessor, but has a slightly edgier package overall because the digital format is less restrictive than network TV.
