Queer as Folk Celebrates 10 Year Reunion at the 2015 ATX Festival!

As if the 2015 ATX Television Festival lineup wasn’t already perfect with a Gilmore Girls reunion, a Dawson’s Creek writers room reunion, and a panel for gone too soon series Journeyman, they’ve announced a 10-year reunion for award-winning series Queer as Folk!

Queer as Folk has always been one of my all-time favourite series, and I loved stumbling upon locations where they were filming in Toronto back in the day.

Attendees for the reunion include creators Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman, along with cast members Gale Harold (Brian Kinney), Peter Paige (Emmitt Honeycutt), Robert Gant (Professor Ben Bruckner), Scott Lowell (Ted Schmidt), Michelle Clunie (Melanie Marcus), and Thea Gill (Lindsay Peterson).

ATX Television Festival Co-Executive Directors and Co-founders Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson said, “We’re extremely proud to bring QUEER AS FOLK to the Festival this year. We strive for diverse and revolutionary programming, and this groundbreaking series changed the game for cable television in 2000, marking a high point not only for the LGBT community, but for socially important storytelling.”

QAF star Peter Paige (now co-creator and executive producer of the critically acclaimed series The Fosters), also commented on the upcoming reunion:

I’m so excited for the QUEER AS FOLK reunion at the 2015 ATX TV Fest. We truly are a family, and any chance we have to be in the same room, catching up, sharing in each other’s lives, is wonderful. And the fact that ATX is a place to really celebrate Dan and Ron (our creators) is such a bonus – they are far too often overlooked!

This year’s ATX Television Festival takes place from June 5-7 in Austin, TX.
