TV series renewals are an amazingly inconsistent thing these days. Some shows get multi-year renewals and some shows get mid-season pickups, and some shows *cough* Alphas *cough* wrap a season and we don’t know whether they’ll be back.
And then there’s Psych. A much-beloved fan-favorite and USA Network staple, Psych‘s 7th season has been in limbo, pushed from fall 2012 to February 2013, so an eighth season renewal looked, at the very least, to be a long time coming. Well, color me surprised and thrilled, because Psych leapfrogged its 7th season’s start with the awesome news that it will be back for an eight-episode 8th season, retaining its crown as the network’s longest-running series. Pineapples for everyone!
We were invited to participate in a 100th episode blogger set visit last summer, and we can’t wait to bring you that coverage. In anticipation of season 7, USA is running a “Tag Iiit!” fan contest to choose the new season’s tagline. You have until December 23rd to contribute your own pithy ideas.
