Production began today on Season 2 of Salem, and some new faces have joined the cast, including Lucy Lawless and Stuart Townsend.
Lawless will be playing Countess Marburg, “one of the last remaining survivors of the legendary line of ancient German witches.” Townsend will be portraying English aristocrat Samuel Wainwright, “a doctor looking to uncover the secrets of Salem and keep his own from those who would seek to discover them.” Both are recurring guest roles for Season 2.
Other casting news includes Joe Doyle in a series regular role, playing Baron Sebastian Marburg, “the charming and cultured son of the Countess.” Oliver Bell is also a series regular this year, reprising his role as Mary’s son.
Season 2 of Salem is set for April 2015 on WGN America, and on Space in Canada.
