Before tonight’s new episode of Gotham, check out this clip from New York Comic Con 2014 featuring Robin Lord Taylor, who is killing it as Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot on the series. He is so charming and you can see his enthusiasm about the series and his role on it. Watch the full video below, but first, some highlights:
- Taylor said that Gotham is bringing some human elements to the characters that we’ve grown up, and letting us see their origins. He added that he wants viewers to understand where Oswald/Penguin is coming from, but doesn’t want them to sympathize with his character.
- He told us that it is a well written character, and one of the easiest jobs he’s ever had.
- He is a big Carol Kane fan and was excited that she’d be playing his mom on the show. He said that she pays so much attention to the people she’s working with, and is thorough in her preparation.
- Taylor is actually a blonde, and said he’s destroyed bedding and towels with the black hair dye!
