Gotham’s Donal Logue: Jim Gordon can Change Bullock for the Better

Harvey Bullock has had an interesting arc so far on Gotham, and during their New York Comic Con press room, Donal Logue gave us a deeper look into his character. Before tonight’s episode, watch the full video below, and check out a few highlights from the round table interview.

  • Logue told us that Harvey Bullock is a complicated character. He can be an asshole, but there are other times when he saves the day.
  • In TV and film, even when someone isn’t “the good guy,” there has to be an element that makes him somewhat empathetic to the viewers.
  • Bullock’s primary motivation is his own best interests and whatever he needs to do to survive in Gotham, but he was once like his young partner. He’s seen a lot of Jim Gordon types crash and burn over the years. When Gordon actually comes along, Bullock recognizes his younger self in Gordon and it re-awakens that notion, changing Bullock for the better.
