Corus Entertainment announced the 2017-2018 programming for their channels this week, and there’s a lot of exciting news to unpack!

The Big Guns

SEAL Team Corus

It stars David Boreanaz (Bones) as Jason Hayes. His tight-knit SEAL team includes Sonny (A.J. Buckley), Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot), and Ray (Neil Brown, Jr). The Big Return

Will & Grace Corus

Old favourites are flooding our TV screens these days — from Twin Peaks to Gilmore Girls. This year’s most buzzed about comeback is the hit comedy Will & Grace, returning for a second go-round more than a decade after its initial run. Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally reprise their famous roles in a 12-episode event. It airs on Global this fall.

Canadian Favourites

Jason Priestley Private Eyes

As huge fans of Mary Kills People, we’re delighted it’s been renewed for a second season on Global. The series follows Mary Harris (Caroline Dhavernas) as she defies the law to help terminally ill patients end their lives. Produced by Entertainment One and Cameron Pictures, The 6-episode second season begins filming this summer. The sophomore season of Private Eyes, staring Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson, is already airing on Global, but the second half is being held until Summer 2018.

Travelers Corus

Over on Showcase, the #1 new specialty series Travelers returns for Season 2 this fall, and Enrico Colantoni joins the cast. He plays Vincent, ‘a mysterious individual who may or may not be a friend of the traveler.’

Special(ty!) Delight

Absentia Corus

After all the behind-the-scenes drama on Castle last year, fans of Stana Katic will be thrilled to see her in the new drama Absentia, hitting Showcase this fall. Katic is ‘an FBI agent who disappears without a trace and is declared dead, only to be found barely alive six years later with no memory of the years that have passed, and soon finds herself implicated in a new series of murders.’

The Sinner is also coming to Showcase this fall. Executive produced by and starring Jessica Biel, it follows a young mother who commits a startling act of violence when she is overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage. To her horror, she has no idea why. Hit series Transparent has also found a new Canadian home on Showcase for Season 4.

The Marvel-verse

Marvel Cloak and Dagger Corus

Corus has not one, but two, new Marvel series in the pipeline for 2018. Marvel’s Runaways, airing on Showcase, is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other, but who must unite against a common foe – their parents. Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, airing on ABC Spark, follows two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers.
