Hey Rhiannon, thanks for the great recap! I didn’t catch it while watchin the show but when I saw Rosen’s name in print in your recap and your wondering why the name sounded familiar it dawned on me who you might be thinking of… Did you ever watch Alphas on Syfy? That group of “evolved” people were led by a Dr. Rosen. Maybe that’s why it sounds familiar – similar genre anyway.

It totally bugged me that they ignored how Castle is really rich. I know he was supposed to be upset that she hid the interview from him, but seriously? Wouldn’t he just be like, “that really hurt…anyway I’ll just be online looking for real estate in DC if you need me.”

I feel like the Castle team may have written themselves into a corner here. Castle has no need to stay in NY, so are they really going to have Beckett turn down her dream job because her boyfriend doesn’t feel like living in DC? I hope not. They’ll need a compelling reason for Beckett to walk away from this job that has nothing to do with Castle, or they aren’t staying true to the way they’ve written her character.

A little more than 24 hours removed and I finally feel like I can start to form coherent thoughts about that finale That being said, I don’t think there are enough words on the english language for me to properly convey just what went through my mind while watching it (if there was a camera in my house filming my reaction to the last 5 minutes, I would definitely be locked in my padded cell right now).

Just a few points of interest before we get to the good stuff:
- Kim Rhodes looked stunning!!! I’ve missed Jodi and I am choosing to believe she is alive and well and we will see her in season 9 (crosses fingers).
- I knew Metatron was a shady bastard. We were once again betrayed by a servant of Heaven. Ugh.
- Kevin Tran Advanced Placement is literally the most amazing human being and all I want to do is wrap him up and keep him safe from every bad thing in this world. Also, Mama Tran (((
- Mark Sheppard was phenomenal last night. Seriously, give that man ALL the awards!!!
- I really need Abaddon to come back next season. She’s a real HBIC and I love it!
- Interested to see how the fallen angel story will play out. Most interestingly with Cas.

Last night’s performances from Jared and Jensen just shows how blessed we are to have these two incredible actors as the leads on our show. Seriously, give them all the awards.

There are a lot of Sam/Dean scenes that will stay with me forever (All Hell Breaks Loose, the hug in Lazarus Rising, Swan Song, the “this is real” moment in Hello Cruel World), and the last 5 minutes of last night’s episode is right up there at the top. I’m honest to god crying right now as I rewatch that scene and there is nothing I can say here that will ever be enough to match the emotion of it. Sam’s greatest fear is letting his brother down and Dean gave up locking up every demon because he couldn’t lose Sam. This show is the epic love story of Sam and Dean. It’s messy and tragic and painful as hell. It’s also the most beautiful story ever told.

Not sure how I’ll survive this hellatus. Maybe you me and Brit should just check ourselves into therapy now. Or better yet, we should start our own therapy group and invite the whole fandom along! We’d have a lot to cry over together. After all, family don’t end with blood.

Erin, lord have mercy. This show has RUINED me. That finale was…I don’t even have words. Or do I? Because I can never shut up. Gah, I don’t even know where to start, so I’ll start with this: wonderful recap, as usual! Okay, and your idea about Dean being a HUMAN King of Hell? Oh my GOD. Can you imagine? Jensen would OWN that – all I can think about is “On the Head of the Pin” when he tortures Alistair. Perfection.

Anyway, I do agree with you about the finale not being as crazy as I had expected. I mean, it was GREAT the way it was, but it was not what I thought it would be. Those last five minutes, though?

Oh my GOD.

My mouth hung open the entire time, tears streaming down my face! I actually had a headache from clenching my jaw. That moment between Sam and Dean (and wow, did Padalecki ever bring his A game, oh my God) was absolute perfection. Those are things that have needed to be said for YEARS. And they finally laid it all out in the open. Absolutely astounding dialogue and acting. I listened to a clip on Tumblr that was just an audio extraction of that scene, and I was blown away. It is amazing what Ackles and Padalecki can do with just their voices. Wow, just – wow. I am still blown away. That might be my new favorite brother scene.

But – we don’t actually know if Sam’s alright! He looked pretty bad, Erin – I wonder what the consequences of not finishing the trials are? I CAN’T WAIT ALMOST FIVE MONTHS TO FIND OUT.

And wow, Crowley. It would have been awesome to see him cured, especially since we know that Mark S. can bring his A game, too. I TEARED UP. FOR CROWLEY. WHAT IS THIS WORLD?

GOD. Okay, and CAS. Totally called that he would fall – I just didn’t know how. It will be interesting to see if they explain why he didn’t start out as a baby – or maybe that was just a special circumstance. Metatron does seem pretty powerful.

That end scene, though? With all the angels falling? Absolutely STUNNING (and I mean, Cas didn’t look bad either, wind blowing through his hair in the night sky). “Angels. They’re falling.” NEVER GETTING OVER IT.

And can we talk about, just for a minute, how the boys were huddled up close to each other, beside the Impala? They didn’t make it in, so they kind of just dropped down beside her, almost as if she would protect him. God, giving myself Impala feelings. Must stop.

Anyway, GREAT finale for a GREAT season. I cannot wait for season 9, and I’m definitely going to miss reading your recaps until then! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us every week! I do so love you.
