Christian Slater Lands Title Role in USA Network’s Mr. Robot

USA Network‘s cyber-crime pilot Mr. Robot has cast Christian Slater in its titular role. He joins other stars already cast, including Rami Malek, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, and Martin Wallström.

If you haven’t heard about Mr. Robot yet, it’s about Elliot, a young programmer with an anti-social disorder that can only connect with people by hacking them. Slater will play a mysterious anarchist, Mr. Robot, who recruits Elliot into an Anonymous-like hacker group that aims to bring down corporate America.

Slater also has a recurring role in the upcoming sixth season of FX’s Archer.

As a long-time Christian Slater fan, I’m thrilled by this news. Here’s hoping if this series is picked up for a full season, it breaks his TV series cancellation record.
