Eliza has been lucky enough to work with some of the hottest producers, directors and actors. Of course she’s a card carrying member of the Whedonverse and she revealed that those in the know have a funny nickname for Joss. They call him ‘Crazy Legs’ because he likes to do a dance where his legs flop around every which way.

She’s also appeared in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back directed by Kevin Smith, who she refers to as a lovely wacko who kept calling her Eliza Duckshoot.

She got in on the ground floor of comedy superstar Zach Galifianakis’ career when he co-starred in her FOX show Tru Calling. She playfully refers to him as Zach Galifawackas and knew even back then that he would explode in a big way.

Would she ever appear in the new Buffy movie?

She doesn’t have a hate-on for it or anything, but Eliza “doesn’t trust the girl or the world without Joss behind it.”

What was it like to play multiple characters and personalities on Dollhouse?

Who would win in a fight between Echo and Faith?

Eliza isn’t sure, but thinks it would be an epic five year battle.

What is Eliza watching on TV right now?

She enjoys watching True Blood and is always amazed by how ‘out there’ it is. “I can’t believe what I’m watching!”

What’s in store for the future?

Eliza established a production company while working on Dollhouse called Boston Diva productions and she runs it with her brother.

Funniest Panel Moment:

A little girl asked Eliza who her best friend from Buffy was and she couldn’t choose, but she did mention that David Boreanaz was a goofball who ran around set and flashed everyone. Then she stopped and realized “I’m telling this to a 5-year old” so she clarified that he was “flashing them big smiles.”

Eliza’s boyfriend Rick Fox accompanied her to FanExpo and he seemed interested in the crazy crowed who showed up to see her, and even took a picture of everyone as she entered the panel.

What prompted you to become involved in aid for the oil spill ravaged Gulf?

The reason I started Vampire Support was because of Ian. I found out about the explosion the day it happened from his Twitter. Then once more information was coming in from different news sources and I got into the politics about the issue I realized something had to be done. Once I started seeing pictures of the wildlife being affected, it broke my heart. I am a huge animal lover. I realized that I had been given a voice in the Vampire Diaries community (from my vlog being tweeted by the cast and crew members) and that I needed to use it to the best of my ability to change this situation and get people involved in my generation (the ‘in-between’ generation). So really the animals was (and still is) the big issue for me because it hit home. I remember when I went to Florida for the first time when I was about 8 years old and being overjoyed at seeing the pelicans on the docks. Seeing pictures of them brown and matted with oil … it’s disgusting and absolutely depressing.

So what exactly is Vampire Support?

Vampire Support’s mission is to raise awareness about the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico by selling vampire oriented shirts as well as putting together miscellaneous projects to encourage people to donate and help out. All proceeds will go towards helping with the relief efforts. Vampire fans from every fandom can come together in a collaborative effort to help out with this horrible disaster.

What will funds raised by this effort go toward?

All proceeds will go to Gulf Aid. Not only will they ensure that the money goes to the wildlife and coastal environment, but also the seafood industry and the well-being of fisherman.

What are some of the featured items in the auction?

Well the two items that I have revealed to the public were the items that Julie Plec, writer/producer of The Vampire Diaries, sent me. One is a Vampire Diaries poster signed by Ian, Nina, and Paul, and the other is the original Pilot script signed by the entire cast. I have more items coming in daily. Some of them are big, others little. I have items from the following vampire fandoms: Vampire Diaries, Twilight, True Blood, and Buffy. I’m working on more fandoms every day! I can’t give away much about specific items but I will say that I recently was contacted by a Twilight actor who is contributing some autographed stuff!

Would you like there to be subsequent fundraising events by Vampire Support, or is this more of a one-off?

I’m not sure yet. I know I will be selling the shirts for as long as help is needed in the gulf. But once the oil spill is stopped I would love to have more events in the future with different charities.

How can everyone get involved in supporting this effort?

There are many ways to contribute. One, spread awareness. This can be done by simply tweeting and retweeting about the oil spill. Any social networking site is a great way to help spread the news. You would be surprised how many people have been living under a rock these past couple of months. Two, donate! If you are able to donate, any amount of money helps. Even if you donate $1, it’s something. Make sure you donate to a reliable website that will work quickly! Also, check out our shirts! Three, volunteer time. If you live in Louisiana or any of the surrounding states that are being affected by the spill, you can donate time by helping with the clean up efforts. Whether it be helping with oiled birds, or just cleaning up local beaches, EVERYTHING helps. Keep in mind some areas are off limits for safety purposes, please contact The National Wildlife Federation for more information on how to volunteer. Four, donate hair. Believe it or not, hair soaks up oil. Contact your local pet stores, pet groomers, and hairstylists and ask if they would be willing to donate hair to help with the clean up. Remind them that it’s for a good cause and that it would be thrown away anyway. If they don’t go for it, volunteer to ship the hair yourself. What better way to start the list than with the couple that inspired this post – Lost’s Desmond and Penny! This is a couple that would go to the ends of the earth for one another.:

Then there’s Admiral Adama and Laura Roslin from BSG. I was thrilled when these two finally ended up together. In the words of the Admiral, “It’s about time.”:

You know how they say “love hurts”. In the case of Buffy and Angel, love turns some people into soulless monsters. Even though they couldn’t live happily ever after, I still enjoyed watching any brief moment of happiness, or sadness that they shared:

Everyone else can have the saga of Ross and Rachel, but for me, Friends’ Phoebe and Mike were THE couple:

No list would be complete without I Love Lucy’s Ricky and Lucy. I adore this scene, when Lucy lets Ricky know he’s going to be a father:

#6:  Bill Compton – True Blood.  One of my newest faves from HBO’s sizzling new series based on the Southern Vampire novels by Charlaine Harris.  Nothing like a vampire that’s also a Southern gentleman.

#5:  Mick St. John – Moonlight.  What is it about a vampire PI living in LA that’s so attractive?  In this case, it was Mick’s undying devotion to Beth.

#4:  Eric – True Blood.  The stunning head vamp that sits on his throne at Fangtasia, Shreveport’s vampire bar, and glamours people to do his bidding.

#3:  Josef Kostan – Moonlight.  Brilliant businessman, best friend to Mick, and womanizing vampire.  What more could you want?

#2:  Angel – Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel.  The vampire with a soul.  Once a merciless killer, now a defender against dark forces.  His and Buffy’s love rival that of Romeo & Juliet, Heloise and Abelard, Tristan & Isolde.

#1:  Spike – Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel.  He was evil.  He was ruthless.  He ended up lovesick.  He and Buffy had the lust that made buildings crumble around them.  Sexy, sarcastic, and ultimately self-sacrificing, That’s what makes Spike my favourite TV vampire of all time!

Before the advent of TV on DVD, I was quite fanatical about not watching a show that had already started. I had to watch it from the very first episode – or not at all! And that’s the very reason I didn’t watch Buffy. Between school and part-time jobs, the start of the series came and went, not even a blip on my radar. So last November, I watched Season One, and I was hooked! Fast forward to Boxing Day sales, and what do you know, I end up with THE ENTIRE SERIES! And I watched it all by April.

The Buffyverse is still new to me, and I’m not completely “in the know”, but there have been some interesting little deets that I’ve discovered which sparked my interest … most recently, a 3 ½ minute trailer for Buffy, The Animated Series. Originally greenlit by Fox back in 2002, Buffy creator Joss Whedon did not find a network to buy the series. A Facebook Group has popped up, complete with a link to a previously unreleased clip. The group’s mission – to get this series on air.
