Blindspot Returns With “Cease Forcing Enemy”

[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

When Blindspot returns Monday night, it’ll be the first new episode in a whopping 98 days. While you noodle on that, I’m happy to tell you that we’re immediately right back in the thick of things, resuming at the exact moment we left off. What’s less fantastic is that we wade into a whole new set of secrety secrets and there is no follow-on scene to that smoking kiss (yet).

Creator Martin Gero does at least answer one burning question for us, but as I’ve said before I’m not 100% sure we’re supposed to trust the story as it’s presented to us. I hope for our own sanity that we are.

We also have to deal with an Internal Affairs type arc, which I always find a snooze, but it begets us a scene of Patterson proving her worth and Mayfair essentially telling the investigator to get the hell off her lawn.

As for the secrety secret fella (Oscar) who saved Jane, he’s holding pretty fast to the instructions set forth by OG Jane, and it looks that will be a longer arc, which of course conflicts with Jane’s ability to be truthful with her friends in the Feeb.

Oh, the drama!

I am glad they’re back, though. I am very curious to see how many people pick the show back up after such a long break.  We’ve only seen 10 of the season’s 23 episodes, which is a little bit mind-boggling.

Here’s a digital recap of the first 10 and a few sneak peeks of Monday’s return, which finds the team dispatched overseas on a tattoo tip, only to stumble into an unexpected cold case.

Blindspot airs Monday night at 10/9c on NBC in the U.S. and 10 pm e/p on CTV in Canada.
