The plot can be stated simply enough: Dr. Zoe Hart moves from New York City to the small town of Bluebell, Alabama to take over the medical practice of a birth father that she never knew so that she can learn how to be a more compassionate physician and advance in her career. This leads to fish-out-of-water escapades and love triangle hijinks of course, but let’s face it – shows like Hart of Dixie are all about the characters and how they move the storyline and not the other way around. So with apologies to “Old MacDonald”, here’s my musical recap of Season 1 of Hart of Dixie:
