When I first heard about The CW’s Arrow, I was a bit nervous. I was hoping for a great superhero-centric TV series, but I also knew from recent TV history, it doesn’t always work. The pilot impressed me beyond expectations, and before its debut last week, I had watched it 4 times. I have to admit I was beyond thrilled that once the ratings were out, it seems we have a hit on our hands! I also think it’s pretty awesome that the star of the series is a fellow Torontonian, Stephen Amell, who I really enjoyed during his brief appearance on The Vampire Diaries and as Jason in the final season of Hung.
During my return to New York Comic Con this past weekend, I took part in a press round table with Stephen Amell, who share his excitement about the successful debut of the series (which included a congratulatory call from WB’s head honcho and the record-breaking numbers on their Canadian network), some of the villains he’s enjoyed playing against so far (Deadlock and a yet to be revealed baddie), and being stumped on TV by some Arrow trivia!
