Caffeine – January 29th Edition

Happy Sunday! We’re at that point in the year when everything’s all about pilot orders for next year and casting for the last few episodes of this year. Also, don’t forget to watch the SAG Awards tonight to see if your favorite shows bring home any prizes!

So here we go with pilot orders:

ABC has primetime soaps, some comedies, and Beauty and the Beast.

CBS has comedies from familiar faces (and here), several interesting-sounding procedurals, and a Greg Berlanti drama.

Cinemax has an Alan Ball crime drama.

Comedy Central has a hotel-set comedy.

The CW has another drama about a young female doctor.

FOX ordered Prodigy Bully and a Bill Lawrence comedy.

HBO has a comedy from Ben Stiller and Jonathan Safran Foer.

NBC picked up that Ryan Murphy comedy and is thinking about an Office spinoff. They’ve also got dramas from Jason Katims and Dick Wolf, and EIGHT comedies.

Paul Adelstein will direct an episode of his show, Private Practice.
