A Few Advance Thoughts on Lost Girl: Midnight Lamp

A Few Advance Thoughts on Lost Girl: Midnight Lamp

Lost Girl returns tonight with a new episode, “Midnight Lamp”, and after getting an advance look at it, I have some non-spoilery teases to share with you. But first, here’s the episode synopsis courtesy of Showcase:

In the episode titled “Midnight Lamp,” Bo continues to ponder The Ash’s shocking proposal. She agrees to his interim request to track down and capture an Afreet – an adulation-craving movie star (Holly). When the assignment becomes complicated and dangerous, Bo finds herself trapped with the most unlikely partner.

And now a few thoughts …

  • Even though Lochlan asks Bo for a favour and she accepts the mission, I don’t think this means they’re now besties. In fact, I still don’t trust him as far as I could throw one of his heads.
  • This episode marks the return of Ryan Lambert who we met back in “Masks”. I wasn’t sure if we’d see him again, and am I ever happy he’s resurfaced. He and Bo have this really awesome chemistry in their scenes together. *Sidenote: Every time I see/hear “Ryan Lambert”, I can’t help but remember an actor of the same name that I seriously crushed on in my tween years. (Anyone else remember him from Kids, Inc and The Monster Squad?)
  • Lauren Holly is a lot of fun as Sadie.
  • There’s a B-story featuring Dyson that answers a question that’s been weighing on my mind throughout this season.

I have to say this is one of my favourite episodes of the season so far! It has humour, wit, action, passion and emotion … and it continues to build on the threat that is looming over Faedom.

Check the episode out for yourself at 9pm on Showcase, then come back here and let me know your thoughts!
