Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries continued to kick some serious butt with its second episode, “Brave New World”. So you can be certain that we were at the ready to record our thoughts for posterity in our latest TVD podcast!
Vee from Vampire-Diaries.net, Lucia from Heroine TV, and Connie from Blast Magazine joined me for this episode. Unfortunately, our friend Lee of From My Side of the Moon was under the weather and unable to take part this time around.
What did everyone think of “Brave New World”? Any thoughts on Vampire Caroline? Are you excited for the big Lockwood family reveal? And where on earth is Alaric?

After watching the last two episodes I am under the impression that Bonnie is not taking any responsibility for the decisions she’s been a major part of. Instead, when things don’t go the way she originally anticipated she takes her feelings of guilt out on characters like Damon. She places blame on everyone but herself. I don’t think she’s losing her humanity but her guilt, frustration and anger are definitely making it impossible for her to make fair judgments.
Lovely podcast!
Love you gals and was eagerly awaiting this podcast all week!
Don’t have too much to say today because you said it all!
So excited for alaric tonight- never thought I would be but I have missed team blood and beer.
I liked the final scene with Elene and Stefan- it is extremely cheesy but I think Stefan is a little cheesy (when it comes to romance) I mean he’s old fashioned and lovely. Plus the little ominous ending wasn’t a cliffhanger but it was sort of like the calm before (and after I suppose) the storm.
I also cannot wait for some Damon and Elena moments, not to mention the return of Katherine- we need the sexy scary badass!
Loves it! Can’t wait for the next podcast.
Hey Girls!
VERY in-depth discussion. LOVE it! I just wish I could join you in order to gain a male’s perspective.
I digress. I have to say, I’m a Bonnie defender and while I didn’t agree with her reaction to Caroline’s vamp out (it didn’t feel in character completely or quite organic), everything else has been befitting of how I would be feeling if I was in her position. Regrettably, a TV series doesn’t, or rather, cannot, fully demonstrate what a particular character is experiencing all the time; and with such a large cast as The Vampire Diaries, the writers can manipulate circumstances to depict key highlights which will drive the story further. In this instance, I believe that the audience is coaxed into a false sense of security with vampires and their high danger factor for the pure and amazing love story we all believe in between Elena and Stefan. If we hadn’t been tricked to be vampire sympathisers, I’m sure a lot more fans would recognise that Bonnie is dealing with her rage via revenge to Damon because essentially, he was the reason her grandmother passed.
