This is the Lost Lost report!
Skipping a week, I am this week delivering both Episode 11: Everybody Loves Hugo and Episode 12: The Last Recruit.
So lets start with Everybody Loves Hugo.
Everyone does. Hugo is my favourite and I know I am not alone. I was just pissed when Hugo finally got the girl Libby only to have her die.
This episode sees Hugo in the Sideways Reset happier than ever, receiving yet another award for his success and humanitarian activities. But then his mom rains on the parade suggesting that he can’t be happy without a woman. This parallel would ring in your ears the whole episode.
While on the blind date his mom set up, Hugo crosses paths with Libby who claims to have “known she loves him from another life that didn’t happen.” Hugo wants to believe her, but still doesn’t. The attraction is there.
Desmond is still on his crusade to open the eyes of the chronologically misplaced Islanders, and encourages Hugo to go chase after Libby even though she is in a mental hospital.
Hugo does, and we finally get to see the big guy get the picnic date with Libby that he never got to have on the Island. Awww … all sorts of warm fuzzies. Then they kiss and he gets the flash showing him his other life.
Desmond moves on to address Locke, but since Locke is dead on the Island, he runs him down with his car. Didn’t see that coming.
Then The Last Recruit.
This episode was a lot of filler for me.
No real focus on any one character really, but it is bridging us into the homestretch to the final conflict. While last week took place almost entirely in the Sideways Reset, this one is mostly on the Island.
FLocke’s hand is forced and the war he threatened that Widmore started is ahead of schedule, so he sets out to attack with his followers.
Sawyer executes his plan to double cross FLocke, only to get double crossed himself, but not before we get a really heartfelt reunion of Sun and Jin – which somehow gives her back the ability to speak in English. These two are my favourite couple. So happy to see them back together.
Until next week … Get Lost.
