A Visit to CBS Television City in Las Vegas

Leave it to a Televixen to go on vacation and end up at a screening of a TV show!

I spent last week at the beautiful MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, home of the CBS Television City Research Center, which I discovered while wandering around the hotel my first day. I couldn’t resist the chance to play network exec for an hour, and signed up for a screening a couple of days later.

So what exactly did the screening entail? Well, a group of about 20 people was ushered into one of the studios, which reminded me of a high school computer lab. After filling out some details on the computers in front of us, and the moderator explained how to use our hand-held rating devices, we were shown an episode of Eleventh Hour.

My thoughts? I’d never seen Eleventh Hour, and found it entertaining, but not really engaging. I probably wouldn’t turn the channel if it was on, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch it.  The fun part was the survey after the episode, when I got to sound off on what I liked or disliked about it, and got to voice my opinion on other shows. I especially enjoyed expressing my extreme dislike of most reality television shows! And everyone received a little thank you gift for participating.

If you’re a TV fanatic, and happen to be in Las Vegas, I highly recommend checking out the CBS Television City Research Center.
